Horse goes to the West Yorkshire Playhouse for the Transform Festival, it plays unplugged in the bar bringing it up close and stable like to the audience. Later Flick comperes the cabaret with John Nicholson from Peepolykus and also playing are the fabulous Wau Wau Sisters. Keep watching for updates!

HORSE to be performed at the 2010 Festival of Desperation

To mark their 30th Anniversary, Bristol based company Desperate men will be holding The Festival of Desperation from October 15th to 17th, celebrating all things Desperate!

The Festival of Desperation will include events, installations and an exhibition, as well as ‘Acts of Desperation (Bristol)’, a programme for new and emerging outdoor artists.

HORSE will be performed on the 17th October. More information to follow...

After a two day drive through five different country's we arrive to an impossibly beautiful city, Prague. Each step has been nothing but easy. Wonderful technicians, easy people with a willingness to help.

Feeling a bit old in the festival club but in very good company. So brilliant to see groups of people all passionate about theatre and making it. Always a pleasure to be amongst the devised theatre world! Say no more!

After galloping through a sold out Salisbury Festival performance, HORSE embarks on a season at Prague Fringe!

From the 28th May - 05th June, the show will be performed at Divaldo Na Pradle @ 9pm.

HORSE is now embarking on its final stage of development with director David Bernstein (Strangelings). It will be performed at the Salisbury International Festival on the 24th May before heading to Prague Fringe Festival from 28th May - 05th June 2010.

This exciting show is a blend of comedy, music, and physical routines, and if it was the title that drew your attention you won't be disappointed. Flick Ferdinando is an extraordinarily talented performer, delivering a succession of horse impressions, horse-inspired monologues, comic songs about horses, and horse related circus routines. The whole thing is very much an exploration of horse obsession, and it all gets quite dark at times; Udderbelly's Hullabaloo provides the ideal location for this engaging melange. Expect to be entertained, expect to be disturbed, and expect to laugh a lot. The moment when she had an orgasm over reading aloud from 'How to Ride' probably sums it up quite well.

UNDERBELLY'S HULLABALOO (VENUE 171)
THERE can't be many shows purely about horses, and there can't be many performers who spend their time pretending to be one. Welcome to the world of Flick Ferdinando.

This isn't really the kind of show you can describe and truly do it justice. Ferdinando clearly loves being a horse and pays tribute to her favourite animal through dance, movement, acrobatics and two excellent monologues. In places she's like a burlesque cabaret act with a saddle and stirrups. At other times, she's a clown with a tail. In either guise she's beautiful to watch – as unselfconscious as she is amusing.

There's something delightfully wrong but refreshingly subversive about sexualising horses and using the Pony Club manual for reference. But the piece isn't just about the weirdly wonderful titillation of Ferdinando's lovely horsey routines. It's a complete exploration of the life and purpose of horses, from show-jumping and giving birth to eating hay and getting carted off to the glue factory.

The point behind Ferdinando's performance seems to be to encourage us to get to know and love horses as much as she does. It may seem like a strange ambition, but by the time you leave the show, you could well have come to understand it.
